Socioeconomics and the present time: the benefits and risks of the expansion of the economic approach
This article focuses on socioeconomics, a comparatively new interdisciplinary scientific trend which is in the process of emergence and search for its conceptual nucleus. It is testing various versions of development: from a guarded attitude towards the potential of the economic approach to giving it pride of place. The author tries to present the basic principles and possibilities of such a version of socioeconomics which in response to very definite social demands seeks to organically link the potential of the economic approach to those of other social sciences. The author uses this version of socioeconomics to chart a path for the rationalization of current practical challenges facing both developed and transforming economies and societies, to construct basic theoretical principles that create a concrete platform for interdisciplinary interactions.
