Частные военные компании и теория справедливых войн
The Private Military Companies (PMC) become more and more active in contemporary warfare, which is especially true of the United States of America. The Private Military Companies are also very important enterprises of contemporary economy, which grow rapidly. The rapid growth of PMC causes many problems. The article deals with some moral and political problems of the unrestricted growth of PMC. Namely: to what extent the growth of PMC may affect the Just War Theory and related practice of constrained war in terms of Jus in Bello and Jus ad Bellum principles. The major conclusion of the author is that the PMC should not be regarded, which is often the case, as a direct threat to the idea of a constrained warfare. On the contrary, in many aspects the PMC may be helpful to limiting the war. But in some other aspects they may act as a factor of unleashing the resort to arms and pose a direct threat to human rights and humanity. These very aspects should be taken into consideration by international law and international humanitarian organizations.
