For the fi rst time an unknown medieval cross-in-square church in
Khosta (Krasnodar Region) is published. Its ruins were uncovered during
the construction of the railway in 1915, and described in 1917 by A. P. Lebedyanskaya.
The church belongs to the complex type of inscribed cross and
was built in the last stage of the «Abkhazian» school (957–967). As in the
