LEO COLEMAN “A MORAL TECHNOLOGY: ELECTRIFICATION AS POLITICAL RITUAL IN NEW DELHI” (CORNELL UNIVERSITY PRESS, 2017)
In his book the author describes three cases, these are three “moral moments” in the history of electrification of Delhi, when decisions related to the organization of technological systems influenced the configuration of power in society, inclusion and exclusion of various social groups. The morality of technology within the framework of this book is understood as the ability of technology to have an ideological and cultural load, to “act” as the elements that organize a community. This book shows how the anthropological perspective allows to combine the values and materiality of technology to reveal the mechanisms of political action.
