Синематограф Александра Богданова
The article focuses attention on Red Star (1908), a novel by Alexander Bogdanov. The novel is read into a fiction investigation examining in a free artistic manner the ideas of socialistic revolution, collectivist culture, and future of civilization. The article analyses the description of collectivist culture of the imaginary Martian civilization, in which a new subject of perception is assumed. It is argued that Bogdanov drew upon an experience of cinema viewer of the beginning of the last century, when he describes an attempt of Leonid, a novel character, to comprehend Martian culture. Relying on the interpretation of the expositions of illness of Leonid as a kind of a film script the article proposes an approach that enables to discern the moments when Leonid enters in a new space of collective sensuality.
