One of the priorities of the study of the regional economy in recent years is the study of the Arctic and Northern territories of Russia. The opening prospects in the development of the North have always attracted scientists and economists from the standpoint of scientific interests as a territory of compact residence of indigenous peoples of the North with their traditional way of life; as a territory with a high degree of resource availability, where the world's reserves of natural resources have already been discovered and are still poorly explored; as a territory where the development, development, placement of productive forces of the country is associated with high costs, both climatic and purely economic (financial, transport, human). The geopolitical position of this region of Russia requires a permanent economic and political presence in this territory.
This article discusses the features of the formation of cash income and expenditure of the population of the Far North and equated areas of the Krasnoyarsk territory. On the basis of the constructed balance of cash income and expenditure of the population of municipalities of the Krasnoyarsk territory were calculated indices of cash income of the population and per capita income of the population of the Northern territories. The subsequent comparative analysis of these territories was carried out in terms of the regional center and the average values. As a criterion of comparison, the index of comparison of per capita monetary incomes of the population of municipal districts of the region was chosen.
The results of specific calculations show that the level of per capita income of the population of the Far North exceeds the level of income of the population of the regional center and the region as a whole; the level of per capita income of the population of the territories equated to the regions of the Far North is lower than the income of the population of the regional center and the region as a whole.
