Using communicative situations when teaching listening shape the learners' motives, and make the process of information extraction more goal-oriented. By taking on an active role the learner turns into a communicator. The appeal to his/her feelings and emotions makes the listening product or the content part of it more personality-specific. Hence there is ground to talk of a better shaped communicative competence.
