Employing AVX Vectorization to Improve the Performance of Random Number Generators
By the example of the RNGAVXLIB random number generator library, this paper considers some approaches to employing AVX vectorization for calculation speedup. The RNGAVXLIB library contains AVX implementations of modern generators and the routines allowing one to initialize up to 10^19 independent ran-dom number streams. The AVX implementations yield exactly the same pseudorandom sequences as the orig-inal algorithms do, while being up to 40 times faster than the ANSI C implementations.
The manual sets out the requirements of science and industry, leading to use of multicomputer systems and multiprocessor systems, which inevitably use the principle of parallel computing, background and state of the art, describes the main approaches to the organization of multiprocessor computer systems, development of parallel algorithms for the numerical solution of problems and parallel programming techniques.
The book contains selected papers that were presented on PhD Summer schools on Scientific Computing jointly organized by Waterford Institute of Technology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, Saint-Petersburg State University and Nanjing University of Technology. The schoold were mainly organized in teleconference mode and linked researchers and PhD students from several countries.
The problems of identifying latent parallelism in the algorithm by explicitly max (the construction of stacked-parallel form of the algorithm graph) and implicit (the method of streaming - DATA-FLOW - calculations), the development of parallel programs in the MPI-paradigm programming and quantitative research strength calculations for the acceleration parallelization on the parameters of a multiprocessor system and the quality of parallel programs. The manual is practical and can be used by students to prepare for the performance of laboratory and practice of the works, of course and diploma projects. The paper suggests an original credit-risk based model for deposit insurance fund adequacy assessment. The fund is treated as a portfolio of contingent liabilities to the insured deposit-holders. The fund adequacy assessment problem is treated as an economic capital adequacy problem. Implied credit rating is used as the target indicator of solvency. This approach is consistent with the contemporary risk management paradigm and the recommendations of the Basel II Capital Accord. The target level of the fund corresponding to the target solvency standard is estimated in a Monte Carlo simulation framework using the actual data on the Russian banking system covering 1998-2005. Author acknowledges the generous support and fruitful discussions with representatives of the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency. The author expresses his personal views and not the views of the Agency.
The research subject is the computational complexity of the probabilistic neural network (PNN) in the pattern recognition problem for large model databases. We examined the following methods of increasing the efficiency of a neuralnetwork classifier: a parallel multithread realization, reducing the PNN to a criterion with testing of homogeneity of feature histograms of input and reference images, approximate nearestneighbor analyses (BestBin First, directed enumeration methods). The approach was tested in facialrecognition experiments with FERET dataset.
The problem of management of the nonlinear object which is exposed to impact of uncontrollable indignations, is considered in a key of differential game. Synthesis of optimum managements is made with application of transformation of the nonlinear equation of initial object in the differential equation with the parameters depending on a condition. The square-law functional of quality allows to formulate synthesis conditions in the form of need of search of solutions of the equation of Rikkati. The solution of the equation of Rikkati with the parameters depending on a condition, is in a symbolical view with application of algebraic methods that allows to generalize a number of earlier published theoretical results, to receive rather constructive decisions in a number of statements of problems of management.
The article is based upon the fact that the growing demand for master data management systems has not yet produced a commonly accepted metodology for their design and development/ The article offers two mathematical models? that allow a master data management systems designer a way to formally describe their system before development and verify the system quality by measurements? unique to master data management systems.
