The successful functioning of the enterprise in market conditions is impossible without sustainable development, the formation of mechanism of sustainable development requires a comprehensive assessment of the enterprise activity, identifying trends and dynamics of the main indicators.
Consideration of social, economic and environmental performance of companies in a single complex has already become a recognized trend of science and practice. Despite this, many problems of sustainable development or remained outside research, or have not led to consensus for some categories, such as «sustainability», «development» and many others. etc. To date, there is no single methodological tools for assessing sustainable development, which is explained, first, the complexity of the concept of sustainable development (economical, ecological and social aspects), and secondly, by the difference of views on the problem (from the scientific to the political) and thirdly, the nature of the problem being solved (the scale, the purpose, the object of study, etc.).
This article is devoted to the analytical study of current methodological approaches to the assessment of sustainable development of industrial enterprises. The authors examine the features, advantages and disadvantages offered by modern scientists methods. The results of this study extend theoretical approaches to the formation and implementation of the evaluation mechanism of sustainable development through a combination of statistical and dynamic approaches to its evaluation. This approach will allow not only to comprehensively assess the degree of sustainable development, but also to confirm or refute the results obtained using only the static or dynamic approach.
