Формирование осознанного отношения к учебной деятельности как путь к саморегулируемому обучению.
The paper addresses the problem of students’ self-awareness in the L2 acquisition, which can be considered a crucial component of self-regulated learning. A survey among first-year students was administered to reveal the kind of aims they set at the beginning of their English for General Purposes Course and find out about the activities they believe would help them achieve those aims. The findings demonstrated poor self-awareness of learners who inconsistently approach the content of their educational practice. Ways of increasing students’ awareness are discussed.
