Оптимизация изготовления титановых секций аппаратов высокого давления

The paper is devoted to simulation, analysis and optimization of a forging technology for manufacturing of titanium sections of high-pressure apparatuses. Computer simulation of material forming during the forging was performed using finite element method. The punching force evolution was study as well as deformation uniformity of the product walls, fillability of the dies and the likelihood of defects. The possibility of using the superplasticity effect in forming process was considered. To reduce the process time, the superplastic mode was provided at the final stage of forming (the last 20% of the stamp stroke). To this end, the speed of the die was calculated in such a way as to ensure deformation of the workpiece in a predetermined strain rate range and comply with restrictions on the maximum load. Several technological solutions of the part manufacturer were considered varying the specimen form and the configuration of the dies. The technological solution was proposed which at given the constraints on the peak loads and forging time allows one to increase the metal utilization factor significantly.
