Study Reveals Why Experienced Readers Sometimes Make Mistakes in Comprehension
Researchers at the HSE Centre for Language and Brain examined how people comprehend sentences in which the grammatical structure conveys a meaning that conflicts with assumptions based on their life experience. In an experiment, participants were asked to read sentences describing two characters and then identify which character had performed the action. The results showed that people with greater reading experience performed better when a character's actions matched their expectations but were more likely to make mistakes when the actions contradicted those expectations. The paper has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology. The study was supported by a grant from the Russian Science Foundation.

PrimeKV: Preserving critical KV cache without attention scores for long-context inference
Zhang Z., Ilvovsky D., Neurocomputing 2027 Vol. 710
Efficient management of the Key-Value (KV) cache is essential for deploying large language models (LLMs) in long-context scenarios, where memory requirements often exceed the capacity of resource-constrained hardware. Many existing training-free compression algorithms typically rely on attention-driven heuristics, but exhibit two key limitations. First, they require explicit attention score computation, which is difficult to reconcile ...

PULSE: Psychological Characteristics Unified Learning via Speech-based Estimation
Abdulkhadirov T., Ryumina E., Ryumin D. et al., Expert Systems with Applications 2026 Vol. 334 P. 1–29
Assessing human psychological characteristics from speech requires models that can jointly capture affective states, expressive behavior, and relatively stable personality traits. However, most existing speech-based frameworks address isolated tasks and use separate task-specific models. This leads to model proliferation and complicates inference in real-world intelligent systems. Unified models are also difficult to develop because few ...

Proceedings of the 11th Workshop on Automated Knowledge Base Construction (AKBC 2026)
Association for Computational Linguistics, 2026.
While Large Language Models (LLMs) have revolutionized NLP, they remain prone to hallucinations, reasoning “mode-collapse” in open-ended generation, and a lack of factual provenance. The Automated Knowledge Base Construction (AKBC) workshop addresses a key missing piece of the generative era: structured knowledge. Knowledge Bases (KBs) serve as ground truth for fact verification, the semantic backbone ...

Zubov A., Zubov A., Малявко, Я. et al., Computer Physics Communications 2025 Vol. 317 Article 109860
The concept of representative volume (REV, or RVE in material sciences) is the cornerstone of continuum scale models – one needs to get the volume big enough so that it could be represented with an averaged value (scalar, vector or tensorial, etc.). While REV should be established in all larger scale simulations, this is rarely ...

Amplifying Latent Safety in Large Language Models via Gated Activation Steering
Roman Prosvirnin, Suslov A., Aleksei Soldatov et al., Computation 2026 Vol. 14 No. 10 Article 261
Abstract Safety-aligned language models often encode that a request is harmful yet still comply with it. We turn this gap between internal recognition and observable behavior into an inference-time defense. The proposed activation-steering method uses a multiplicative operator that amplifies the residual-stream component along a harm-recognition direction. Intervention strength scales with the model’s own assessment of ...

Nomos e poikilía dell'Essere. Genesi metafisica del molteplice. Una deduzione schellinghiana
Dezi A., Sesto San Giovanni: Mimesis, 2026.
This book is a metaphysical inquiry into the nature and origin of the manifold. Taking Schelling’s Erlangen lectures of 1820–1821 as its point of departure and hermeneutic horizon, it develops an interpretation of Nomos that transcends its political, juridical, and social determinations. Nomos thereby emerges as the ontological principle of an infinite, variegated multiplicity of ...

Timur Teregulov, Elena R. Loubenets, / Series Quantum Physics "arXiv". 2026. No. 2609.31472.
We develop a new three-party quantum secret-sharing (QSS) protocol based on a three-qubit W state. This protocol encodes the secret-sequence bits using X gates and employs randomly selected Hadamard operations and measurement bases to generate information and security-test rounds. We evaluate the efficiency of the proposed protocol and analyze its security against an internal adversary ...

Rezunik L., Alexandrov D., Mikhail Prozorskiy, , in: Intelligent Decision Technologies. Proceedings of the 17th KES-IDT 2025 ConferenceVol. 450.: Cham: Springer, 2026. P. 81–91.
Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) can benefit from Large Language Models (LLMs), but hallucinations pose risks to decision-making. This paper introduces an approach for creating MAS based on LLMs and proposes a generalized architecture for such systems. We ensure that reasoning is conducted through predicate logic to minimize errors, and LLMs are exclusively utilized to translate natural ...
