Социальный контекст как фактор, моделирующий систему метафорических образов в нарративах (на примере англоязычного дискурса о беременности и родах)

The paper focuses on the system of metaphorical images used in modern English-language memoir narratives in prenatal and postnatal discourse. It reveals a set of social representations of pregnancy and childbirth, which act as a modeling factor for the formation of metaphorical images. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the decisive role of the social context in the formation of metaphors in the discourse under study. The work uses the methods of discursive and contextual analyses. The main conclusions emphasize a strong influence of the social context on linguistic representations and the use of social representations for creating an established system of metaphorical images in memoir narratives.
