Адаптация иностранных студентов в условиях цифровизации образования: теоретический обзор
The global trend toward the globalization of education is intensifying competition among universities for international students. Upon arriving in a new country, students often experience difficulties adapting, which directly impacts their academic success and personal growth. The digital environment is a significant element influencing the adaptation process. This influence is ambivalent, manifesting itself in both positive and negative aspects. Most research focuses on the use of digital tools to support adaptation and the creation of online communities. These studies address factors that hinder academic adaptation. However, there is a lack of research devoted to the relationship between academic adaptation and various aspects of the digitalization of education, as well as the impact of international students’ digital literacy on their academic adaptation. The purpose of this article is to examine the specifics of international students’ academic adaptation in the context of digitalization, drawing on the works of Russian and international scholars. This issue represents a fundamental challenge for ensuring the successful integration of international students into the educational process. This not only contributes to their academic performance and psychological well-being, but also allows universities to improve the quality of education and create a favorable learning environment. The novelty of this work lies in its analysis of significant contradictions and knowledge gaps that must be addressed to build an effective system for integrating international students into digital education. We have systematized research on the impact of the digital educational environment on international student adaptation and identified key areas for future research.
