The article deals with the issue of the gender reflection in the language phraseology, the concept of phraseological units with the gender component. It presents their classification based on semantics. In the context of the phraseothematic groups, the traits and specific behaviour of men and women determined by society are under consideration in the article. As the result, it proves the potential of phraseological units with the gender component to represent the linguistic reality and the national culture.
