The author’s attention is drawn to the chronicle article 1376–1377 year, which many times was taken into consideration by historians, who had shed light upon political affairs of Dmitry Ivanovich Donskoy. There is no acknowledged opinion concerning the status of postattacked Bolgar city, which was raided by Dmitry Donskoy’s troops, as much as person – “darugha”, who was left in the city after military campaign. The paper aims at detailed
scrutinization of text fragment, in particular where darugha was named by an old-russian booksman as «князя великого». Using textological comparison the earlier version of the chronical article with the version of letter compilations, it’s possible to answer on the question –was the Bolgar city under control of Moscovite princeps for a while or it’s a late addition was made by a scriber in original text.
