Исследование устаревания настройки RIS в сценариях с мобильными устройствами
Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) is a promising technology that can improve the throughput and coverage of wireless networks. The effectiveness of RIS depends on its configuration, which is adjusted taking into account the position of transmitting and receiving devices in space. Over time, the RIS configuration becomes outdated due to changing environmental conditions caused by the movement of devices and other objects. This paper examines the aging of the RIS configuration obtained by focusing or redirecting the reflected beam in a system with mobile devices. The paper shows that the difference in the required reconfiguration time to compensate for aging can reach hundreds of milliseconds for redirection and focusing. The limitations of existing analytical expressions for the required reconfiguration time are demonstrated.
