The article dwells upon the oftencontradictory views of Chinese and in

ternational experts regarding the role of certain traditional values and culture in

helping shape the patterns of behavior conducive to fighting the unprecedented

challenges of the Covid19 pandemics. But what are the precise elements that the

Chinese scholars find especially beneficial and how do they fit into the ideology

and practical policy of the ruling party? But this is quite a contentious field, as no

consensus is seen at this point. We can see that the Covid19 pandemics have not

only led to a panoply of social, economic and political consequences, but it also

reignited certain past debates about the confluence of the Chinese and universal

values and the basic principles that would shape the direction of the future deve

lopment of the Modern Chinese polity.
