This article examines the importance of digital competence of foreign language teachers in modern education. It analyses the advantages of using digital technologies in the educational process and the necessity for teachers to master the tools of digital information processing. Particular attention is paid to the linguodidactic aspect of digital competence, including the development of personalised learning materials, automated assessment and feedback, and the use of generative models in education. The ethicality of the use of generative models and the importance of their regulability in higher education are also discussed. The article highlights the relevance and significance of modern digital technologies in the context of foreign language teaching and calls for further research on this issue in the educational sphere.
