Страны Индокитая в АСЕАН: ключевые аспекты развития
The monograph focuses on the development problems of the mainland countries of Southeast Asia (Indochina), which are an integral part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). For the first time in Russia, a vast amount of information on the current processes in this subregion is summarized given relevant assessments of various aspects of domestic and foreign policy of its member countries. The study was prepared by scientists and experts from academic and educational institutions of Russia and Southeast Asia (SEA), who participated in the thematic international scientific conference held at the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia, Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) in May 2023. The Part I provides an overview of the general features and characteristics of Indochina as a subregion of the SEA and presents the basic knowledge about it in the political and economic discourse. The Part II reviews subregional trends in cooperation through the individual countries cases. The Part III focuses on Indochina's interaction with the outside world, especially China. The Part IV highlights the interaction of the Indochinese countries with Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), identifies the forms, results and prospects of economic cooperation between the two sides, and shows the experience in the field of military cooperation, taking into account Russia’s leading role in the arms procurement to regional market. The Part V analyzes various socioeconomic trends in ASEAN, focusing on Indochina. The collective monograph is intended for the scholarly and educational communities enga ged in the study of processes in Southeast Asia, as well as representatives of government agencies.
