Социальная инженерия как угроза хозяйственной деятельности кредитной организации
The article deals with issues related to a wide-spread way of committing fraudulent actions against clients of credit institutions as social engineering. The danger of this phenomenon lies in the fact that attackers, using a combination of technical and psychological techniques, mislead their victims, encouraging them to transfer sensitive information or perform certain actions, such as transferring funds. Identification and search of violators often do not lead to tangible results, since calls can also be made from the territories of foreign countries. At the same time, the actions of the victims are formally voluntary and deliberate, and it is difficult to prove the fact of misleading by a third party. The author provides an overview of the main methods by which this type of illegal activity is implemented, outlines the necessity of countering this type of threats in the financial sector, and also formulates proposals for improving the system of protection against social engineering.
