State financial control is one of the key elements in achieving country’s development goals and economic security. In the context of unprecedented sanctions pressure, the maximum efficient spending of budget funds should be the focus of attention for all budget executors. The control of expenditure of budget funds is carried out by audit authorities, however, the ratio of budget funds that need to be checked and the number of supervisors themselves doesn’t allow to carry out this process manually, so the implementation of digital tools is one of the priority tasks. The availability of various technologies in the Russian market allows automate most of the functions of state financial control, which seems possible, especially considering the experience already existing in the country. This article systematizes the experience of implementing digital tools and services at both the federal and regional levels. Considering the already implemented solutions, we can say that the current level of digitalization of state financial control authorities is high: modern technologies such as artificial intelligence are clearly being used, but nevertheless, the scale of implementations even at the federal level does not allow covering all risks of inefficient spending of budget funds. At the same time, the world is not standing still, and technological trends, picked up by commercial structures, are beginning to be massively implemented into the operational management models of organizations. New technologies also need to be mastered and assessed for their applicability in the audit authorities of the Russian Federation.
