Цифровые формы занятости на российском рынке труда: дистанционная и платформенная

The paper analyzes digital forms of employment in the Russian labor mar- ket — remote and platform ones. It examines in detail their scale, dynamics and socio-demographic profiles. For each form of digital employment, both descriptive and regression analysis is performed using microdata from the Rosstat Labor Force Survey for 2020–2023. A comparison of the Russian experience with the international one shows that in Russia the level of remote employment is lower while the level of platform employment, on the contrary, is higher than in developed countries. In the period under consideration, both remote and platform work demonstrated a strong downward trend. If remote work is essentially a privilege of the most qualified part of the workforce (pri- marily those with higher education), the structure of platform employment is highly polarized. It includes, on the one hand, workers with very high skills (freelancers), but, on the other, workers with fairly low skills (delivery couri- ers, taxi drivers). The results obtained do not give reason to expect that remote and platform employment could soon supplant “standard” employment.
