The monograph was prepared within the framework of the GUU grant (Research and Development No. 1005-23) and is a comprehensive scientific and practical study. The paper touches upon the issues of the historical development of the legal regulation of vocational education in Russia, examines the evolution of the mechanisms of its legal regulation, analyzes foreign experience. Based on the results of the study, proposals were formulated to improve the current legislation on education, conceptual approaches for further development of legal regulation of vocational education, taking into account modern challenges and digitalization of the economy. The results of the study can be used in the educational process during training in the field of jurisprudence, pedagogy, history, for law enforcement practice in the field of education, in the legislative activity of public authorities.
