The article critically analyzes the emerging phenomenon of AI art. A number of fundamental questions are posed, which become the actual content of the theory of art and design, as well as the cultural policy of the late capitalist society. Artificial intelligence in art is seen as an autonomous nonhuman agent, which presents a fundamental challenge to the whole sphere of art and creative industries at the level of creativity and labor relations, which have so far been considered "insurmountable" for nonhuman forms of presence. AI art is problematized in the context of a new cultural situation of posthumanist shift, which is that works of art can be created by autonomous programs, machines and machine-human hybrids. The practical significance of raising critical questions at the conceptual level is conditioned by the refusal of passive acceptance of radical changes in the habitual world.
