We present the results of our analysis of multiwavelength observations for the long gamma-ray burst GRB 200829A. The burst redshift z≈1.29±0.04 has been determined photometrically at the afterglow phase. In gamma rays the event is one of the brightest (in isotropic equivalent), Eiso≳1054 erg. The multicolor light curve of the GRB 200829A afterglow is characterized by chromatic behavior and the presence of a plateau gradually transitioning into a power-law decay that can also be interpreted as a quasi-synchronous inhomogeneity (flare). We assume that the presence of a chromatic inhomogeneity in the early afterglow is consistent with the model of a structured jet.

Numerous studies have provided compelling evidence that the probability distribution of avalanche sizes follows a power law, and that 1/f noise is present in the stochastic dynamics of landslides. We present a theoretical explanation of these phenomena within the framework of self-organized criticality theory, proposing a discrete-time model in the form of a sandpile cellular ...

A discrete-time model is presented for the self-organization of the X/Twitter social network to the edge of a phase transition, characterized by avalanche-like propagation of information in the network. The model is based on the analogy between the critical dynamics of the X social network and sandpile cellular automata with Manna rule on the Chung-Lu ...

Superconducting properties of metallic micro- and nanowires can be entirely different from those of bulk superconductors. Of particular interest is the nonequilibrium current-induced state of a quasi-one-dimensional superconducting channel. The most interesting phenomenon here is the stepped I–V characteristic, explained by a process known as phase slip center activation. If the origin of such step-like ...

Machine learning (ML) has become a powerful tool for accelerating the development of carbon-based supercapacitors;
however, most published models assume that a single predictive framework can describe both conventional
porous carbons and hybrid carbon electrodes. Here, we test this assumption using a comprehensive
benchmark dataset and an extended literature-curated dataset enriched with synthesis- and electrolyte-related
descriptors. Three ML algorithms ...

This paper compares the ranging precision of direct time-of-flight (dToF) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) LiDAR architectures, both using a superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD). Both systems operate at 1550 nm with a 50 ps pulsed laser and time-correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC). The dToF configuration achieved approximately 100 µm precision at 10 m, while the NLOS configuration achieved 500 µm precision for ...

Manufacturing precise quantum computers with small errors in quantum operations, long coherence times, and low power consumption is the most important challenge in modern nanoelectronics. To understand the operating modes of such calculators in detail, both the optimal arrangement of the qubit system within the structure and changes in its magnetic properties must be comprehensively ...

We present the most complete up-to-date sample of supernovae associated with gamma-ray bursts (GRB-SNe) for which the peak time of the SN light curve and the peak absolute magnitude have been found. The sample contains 44 SNe. We have searched for correlations between the parameters of the GRB-SN $$V$$-band brightness peak (the rest-frame $$V$$-band absolute magnitude $$M_{V}$$) and ...

With the beginning of a new gravitational-wave era in astronomy and astrophysics, the problem of identification of gamma-ray bursts optical counterparts is becoming more relevant than ever before. The application of existing methods for identifying transients, in particular image subtraction, is complicated by several factors; the main ones are the variability of observation conditions and ...

Long gamma-ray bursts are produced by energy dissipation within ultra-relativistic jets launched by newborn black holes after the collapse of a peculiar class of massive stars. Right after the luminous and highly variable gamma-ray emission, a multi-wavelength afterglow is released by external dissipation of the jet energy in the medium that surrounds the progenitor star. ...

Detection, observation and description of supernovae associated with gamma-ray bursts are currently topical tasks in the field of transient phenomena. More than 10000 gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been detected since discovery. Long-term observations of about 850 GRB afterglow in optic since 1998 have shown that a core-collapse supernova (SN) accompanies about 50 nearby GRB sources. We have collected about two dozen SNe’ multicolor light curves associated with GRBs. The sample is based on published data, ...

Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are classified into long and short events. Long GRBs (LGRBs) are associated with the end states of very massive stars, while short GRBs (SGRBs) are linked to the merger of compact objects. GRB 200826A was a peculiar event, because by definition it was an SGRB, with a rest-frame duration of 1/40.5 s. ...

The ejecta composition is an open question in gamma-ray burst (GRB) physics1. Some GRBs possess a quasi-thermal spectral component in the time-resolved spectral analysis2, suggesting a hot fireball origin. Others show a featureless non-thermal spectrum known as the Band function3-5, consistent with a synchrotron radiation origin5,6 and suggesting that the jet is Poynting-flux dominated at the ...
