Театральные мотивы в творчестве В.Е. Маковского: язык живописи и театра

The article considers the artworks by the Russian artist, active member of the Association of Travelling Art Exhibits Vladimir Makovsky in the context of theatrical discourse. The artist's works are examined in the following aspects: 1) theatrical image and its embodiment; 2) the correspondence of the content of the painting to the theatrical dramatic plots; 3) stage space (composition), gestures, facial expressions, lighting effects.
