Civilizational change is quickening, not only in the lifetime of the current generation, as is usually said in such cases, but in our own. Over the past decade, a variety of fundamental changes have taken place in the world around us, and it is more than just the advent of this or that information technology that we encounter literally every day. What follows is an obvious statement that someone has probably said before, but unfortunately we have not found a primary source: Change has never been so fast and will no longer be as slow as it is today, in the 21st century.
