The analyzed novel by Yulia Rabinowich “Split Head” is a conditional block of memory. The novel contains narrative polyphony, which manifests itself through the main character, Misha, and another mythical creature, the Split Head. The narrative in the novel “passes” through many fairy tales and myths, thereby presenting a certain outline of the narrative, reflecting the memories of the main characters. Interesting to study is the presence in the novel of a ghostly character - Split Head, who goes through all the difficulties and hardships that the family faces in exile. It should be noted that Split Head, as a character in the novel, “feeds” on the negative thoughts and emotions of the main characters, their experiences, as well as quarrels and scandals. Yulia Rabinowich's novel “Der Spaltkopf” seems to be a unique polyphony with references to Russian and Western European fairy tales, reflecting the difficult path of migration and integration into a new cultural space.
