Effective management of international development assistance programs requires persistent improvement of the information resources quality and the introduction of new approaches to data analysis. The COVID-19 pandemic has made these tasks even more pressing, so it is difficult to overestimate the importance of new databases development that contain detailed information on cases of foreign aid provisions. Accordingly, the main aim of this paper is to demonstrate the great potential of recently published data sources allowing us to research Russian assistance in the global fight against the spread of the coronavirus. Special attention is dedicated to the study of Russian humanitarian aid to the Orient in 2020 with an application of network analysis methods.
