Позиция ООН и деятельность ее миротворческой миссии в гражданской войне в Боснии и Герцеговине 1992-1995 годов
The article presents analysis and critical comprehension of the Bosnian Civil War 1992-1995 events. These events show one of the successful attempts of the Western establishment to weaken “evil” regimes in strategically important regions; such was the Balkan Peninsula those years. This topic is inexorably relevant because of ongoing color revolutions all around the world and the series of events during the collapse of Yugoslavia still being a controversial issue due to many conflicts existing among Slavic nations in the Balkans. In the scientific community there is still no consent about the roles played by the foreign actors in these events – international organizations and other states. Therefore, the subject of this research is the role of the UN in the Bosnian War. The purpose of the study is to consider a position of the UN regarding to the warring actors. The research objectives are to study and estimate the UN activities during the adjustment of the conflict and to compare actions of peacekeepers with the UN Charter, its principles and objectives. Analysis of the open-accessed scientific and journalistic materials in Russian, English, Serbian, and Bosnian, their synthesis, generalization, induction and comparative method were chosen for the methods of the research. Finally, it is concluded that the UN, being legally impartial international organization, didn’t deal with its objectives of ending armed conflict and adjustment between the warring participators and acted supportively to NATO interests.
