This article is devoted to the problem of reproduction of the elite of the Russian Empire in the 18th century. The object of study is a collection of descendants of the titled nobility of pre-Petrine Russia. The goal is to study the level of fitment of descendant groups of the Moscow titled nobility into the post-Petrine elite of the Russian Empire, showing their wealth, official status and education received. The main question: was it easy for the descendants of princely surnames to get high ranks, what percentage of their number could enter the official elite of the Russian Empire of the 18th century, preserving the ruling position and land wealth.
