Rhenium complexes of 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphine, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methoxycarbonylphenyl)porphyrin, and 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octabromo-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin were synthesized and characterized by mass spectrometry, electron and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and HPLC. The X-ray photoelectron spectra of the complexes showed that rhenium is present predominantly in the pentavalent state. The optimized geometries, dipole moments, and charge and spin density distributions of the synthesized complexes were obtained by quantum-chemical calculations, as well as Mulliken population analysis was performed.

Pyruvylation is one of the immunochemically relevant modifications of O-antigens in bacterial and fungal cells. Therefore, fast and relatively simple analytical methods for identifying this modification are highly demanded. 13C NMR spectroscopy is the best candidate for this purpose, but its successful application requires using reference structures and reliable databases. In this work, we collected ...

We perform a Monte Carlo analysis of the Ising model on many three-dimensional lattices. By means of finite-size scaling we obtain the critical points and determine the scaling dimensions. As expected, the critical exponents agree with the three-dimensional Ising universality class for all models. The irrelevant field, as revealed by the correction-to-scaling amplitudes, appears to ...

A convenient, stable, and non-toxic substance, tetrabutylammonium difluorotriphenylsilicate (TBAT), can be used as an organocatalyst in all stages of polymer lifetime: synthesis, modification, and recycling. The fluorine-containing initiator showed high activity in the polymerization of siloxanes compared to classic organocatalytic systems. Using kinetically controlled ROP, a high-molecular-weight PDMS (Mn up to 820 𝑘𝑔/𝑚𝑜𝑙) was prepared at room ...

A simple and atom-efficient way to prepare amides directly from carboxylic acids and nitroarenes was developed. Carbon monoxide as a sole reducing agent provides the ultimate selectivity of the protocol. A straightforward and selective way for the preparation of amides from nitroarenes and carboxylic acids using carbon monoxide as a reductant was developed. This protocol ...

Traditional Monte-Carlo methods form the backbone of modern particle physics simulation software but are computationally expensive. We present a machine-learning-based approach to fast simulation of the Focusing Aerogel Ring Imaging Cherenkov (FARICH) detector response. Given a particle track and momentum, ...

Radiation from rotational transitions of CO molecules in distant galaxies creates a chaotic background with an intensity reaching 1000 Jy/sr at a wavelength of approximately 1 mm. This background will pose a serious problem, when measuring spectral distortions of the cosmic microwave background, in particular, the mu-distortion, which presumably has an intensity of less than ...

Solubility is a crucial property of organic compounds, impacting their potential applications in synthetic chemistry, materials science and drug design. Moreover, in technological processes mixtures of solvents are often utilized, making the solubility assessment more complicated. Predicting solubility values in mixtures of solvents from a molecular structure can help to address this issue, although a ...

This work presents a comprehensive investigation into the temperature-dependent thermally stimulated conductivity and photoconductivity of vacuum-annealed thin films based on core–shell CdSe/CdS nanoplatelets passivated with oleic acid ligands. Controlled thermal annealing under vacuum conditions leads to a substantial increase in both dark and photoinduced conductivity, which is primarily attributed to partial desorption of the ligands. ...

Macromolecular porphyrin nanorings are receiving significant attention because of their excellent optoelectronic properties. However, their efficiencies as potential solar materials are significantly affected by nonradiative charge recombination. To understand the recombination mechanism by alternating structural parameters and using tight-binding nonadiabatic molecular dynamics, we demonstrate that charge recombination depends strongly on the mode of the linker ...
