Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Social Integration: At the Crossroads of Knowledge and Values
The International Laboratory for Social Integration Research (ILSIR) at HSE University studies the challenges faced by vulnerable groups and explores ways to help them participate fully in everyday life. To develop effective solutions, the laboratory’s researchers combine cutting-edge methods with practical fieldwork. In this interview with the HSE News Service, Laboratory Head Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova discusses the laboratory’s work.

Molecular boron clusters

.
Sivaev I.

This chapter describes recent progress in the chemistry of molecular boron clusters. The greatest attention is paid to the
intensively developing chemistry of closo-decaborate [B10H10]2- and closo-dodecaborate [B12H12]2- anions. Of the
compounds with an open nido- and arachno-structures, the latest achievements in the chemistry of decaborane [B10H14] and macropolyhedral borane anti-[B18H22] attract the most attention.

Catalytic insertion of nitrenes into B-H bonds
Ankudinov N., Alexeev N., Podyacheva E. et al., Chemical Science 2025 Vol. 16 No. 15 P. 6298–6306
Organic compounds with boron–nitrogen bonds are widely used as fluorescent sensors and semiconducting materials. This paper presents a new approach for the formation of B–N bonds via catalytic insertion of nitrenes into B–H bonds. The reaction proceeds most selectively for cyclic boranes with a 2-phenylpyridine framework and nitrenes generated in situ by the oxidation of ...

Synthesis of chiral boranes via asymmetric insertion of carbenes into B–H bonds catalyzed by the rhodium(I) diene complex
Ankudinov N., Komarova A., Evgeniya S. Podyacheva et al., Chemical Communications 2024 Vol. 60 No. 65 P. 8601–8604
Molecules with chiral boron atoms have been scarcely studied due to limited synthetic access. Herein, we report a new method for their synthesis via asymmetric insertion of arydiazoacetates into the B–H bonds of prochiral carbene–boranes NHC–BH2R. The reaction is catalyzed by the rhodium(I) complex with the chiral diene ligand tBu2-TFB, which can be conveniently prepared by ...
