Женские нравы в сочинениях Авла Геллия (по исследованиям И. Л. Маяк) и Валерия Максима
The article deals with gender issues in the work of Valerius Maximus (in comparison with the work of Aulus Gellius). I. L. Mayak paid considerable attention to this topic in her research, including in a monograph devoted to the work of Aulus Gellius. Both authors are characterized by an interest in the past, but for Valerius Maximus this interest was to a certain extent due to modern processes and trends. The author of the article joins the conclusion of I. L. Mayak about the importance of civil feelings not only for Roman citizens, but also for Roman women. This sense of civic participation was largely determined by the important role of women in the sphere of public worship. And in the work of Valerius Maximus the female question was also closely related to the religious one.
