"Quizlet" as an effective tool for developing linguistic competence amongst the members of generation "z"
This research is dedicated to the usage of modern applications in educational process and focuses on the primary school students (3rd grade) who represent generation “z”. In this research “Quizlet” application is examined from the English language learning perspective with the special emphasis on the unique characteristics of generation “z”. The purpose of this research is to establish whether “Quizlet” is an effective tool in terms of teaching English vocabulary (developing linguistic competence) in primary school. Several research methods are applied: I used homogeneous sampling to pick two groups of students for the experiment. The experiment confirmed the hypothesis and proved that “Quizlet” application can improve the results of the students in terms of developing linguistic competence by engaging them with the educational process and thus building their motivation. The outcomes of this research can be used for the improvement of educational process, considering developing linguistic competence at English lessons.
