Originally printed in 1932, this book is a fascinating and rare account of the early years of the Soviet Armenian republic as seen through the eyes of a young Armenian American woman, Aghavnie "Ave" Yeghenian. Witty, charming, fun, and insightful, her text fits into the broader category of the history of the Soviet Union.  This new republication, released by the Gomidas Institute as part of the Sterndale Classics series in 2012, also features a new introduction by Pietro Shakarian, contextualizing the work for students, scholars, and general readers.  It also includes a new glossary of place names, original cover art by the architect Zareh M. Sourian, a map, a depiction of the coat of arms of the Armenian SSR, and twelve photographs.
