Scientists Create Open Dataset for Studying Concentration
A team of Russian researchers, including scientists from HSE University–St Petersburg, has developed the first open multimodal dataset containing recordings of brain activity, heart function, and video observations to help researchers understand what happens in the human brain during deep concentration. In the future, the dataset could accelerate the development of neural interfaces, rehabilitation technologies, and AI systems. The article has been published in Scientific Data.

Local Fault-Tolerant Routing in 3D Mesh NoCs using Single-Hop Rollback
Edward R. Rzaev, Aleksandr Y. Romanov, Andrey M. Sukhov, IEEE Access 2026 Vol. 14 P. 2169–3536
This work presents a hierarchy of strictly local fault-tolerant routing algorithms for 3D mesh networks-on-chip, culminating in an algorithm that combines a live-neighbor selection rule with a bounded single-hop rollback mechanism. The proposed algorithms operate exclusively on immediate neighbor information, maintain O(1) per hop complexity, and require no global topology knowledge, additional virtual channels, or ...

Pozanenko A., Социологические исследования 2026 № 6 С. 64–71
Due to persistent territorial socio-economic imbalances, some residents of Russian villages and small towns leave for a long time to work without changing their place of permanent residence. Such internal temporary labor migration is referred to by some researchers as otkhodnichestvo, and migrants as otkhodniks, by analogy with the pre–revolutionary and early Soviet migration of ...

K. O. Petrosyants, I. A. Kharitonov, Tegin M. S., Russian Microelectronics 2025 Vol. 54 No. 7 P. 743–750
Large temperature jumps in the structures of power semiconductor devices when they are turned on and off significantly reduce the reliability of power circuits. The widely used electrothermal modeling approaches for thermal circuits have a number of disadvantages: the use of interconnected Spice simulators and the numerical 3D thermal field modeling tool requires a detailed description of 3D ...

Generalized Hurst Hypothesis: Description of Time-Series in Communication Systems
Nigmatullin R. R., Dorokhin S. V., Ivchenko A., Mathematics 2021 Vol. 9 No. 4 Article 381
n this paper, we focus on the generalization of the Hurst empirical law and suggest a set of reduced parameters for quantitative description of long-time series. These series are usually considered as a specific response of a complex system (economic, geophysical, electromagnetic and other systems), where successive fixations of external factors become impossible. We consider ...

Electrostatically gated dissipation control in two-dimensional nanoelectromechanical resonators via strain-amplitude antagonism for record 928% Q tunability
Jiang Q., Fang J., Chen J. et al., Science China Information Sciences 2026 Vol. 69 No. 6 Article 162402
Resonators based on nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) using two-dimensional (2D) materials with high-quality factors and excellent electrical control are critical for tunable coherent phonon dynamics, resonant sensors and wireless communications. However, their performance is fundamentally limited by the lack of a unified framework governing energy dissipation mechanisms and their electrical tunability. Here, we synergistically modulate both ...

Menstrual health as a public concern in Ghana: A conceptual review of symbolic and structural ownership
Helen Selorm Wohoyie, Anikin V. A., Tomsk State University Journal of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science 2026 Vol. 90 P. 204–211
Menstrual health serves as a critical litmus test for state intervention in contexts where women’s bodily experiences are historically shaped by stigma, cultural taboos, and structural violence. Drawing on Joseph Gusfield’s theory of social problems, this review traces the moral passage of menstruation in Ghana (1992–2025) from a privately managed, stigmatized phenomenon to a matter ...

How virtual urban green spaces influence stress and risk-taking
Dorri Sedeh S., Kosonogov V., Kerimova N. et al., Frontiers in Psychology 2026 Vol. 17 Article 1710257
Introduction:  As cities continue to grow, access to natural environments is becoming more limited, contributing to increased stress levels in urban populations. Panoramic 360° videos provide a creative and scalable means of simulating natural environments, potentially reducing stress in city residents under controlled settings. Here, we examined whether short immersive experiences in different urban environments support ...

M. O. Balaban, Vasilizhenko A. A., L. B. Karachurina et al., Regional Research of Russia 2026 Vol. 16 No. 1 P. 151–169
The population dynamics of settlements are determined by many different factors, including, as research shows, the availability of educational and healthcare facilities (i.e., basic social infrastructure) close to home. One can assume a two-way relationship: a decrease in population entails a reduction in the number of assigned students in schools and healthcare institutions and, as a result, the ...

Reproducible Benchmark of Wavelet-Enhanced Intrabody Communication Biometric Identification
Jin S., Komarov M. M., Scientific Reports 2026
Intrabody communication (IBC) channels offer physiological diversity that can be leveraged for passive biometric identification in wearable devices. Recent reports of over 99 per cent identification accuracy have frequently resulted from data leakage, where samples from the same subject are seen in both training and evaluation, yielding inflated and unreliable metrics. In this work, we ...
