The paper suggests the new vision of the explanation of the “name” of the Archaianaktidai as the result of the distortion in the book of Diodorus Siculus of the mentioning by Bosporan chronicle about the new foundation and the new founders of the Pantikapaion city in the early 5th Century B.C., what is confirmed by the archeological evidence. So the “Archaianaktidai” must be read and understand as α̉ρχαὶ α̉νακτισταὶ. Also the geographical notion “Bosporus” in Diodor’s Historical Library XII 31, 1 personify Pantikapaion, which controlled in early 5th Century B.C. only his neighboring apoikiai. New vision of Pantikapaion’s early history confirm many important observations about parallelism of the evolution of the Greek-barbarian relationship in the Mediterranean and in Nord-East area of the Black Sea as well about the arrival into Bosporus of some next groups of settlers and about similar fates of the poleis’ defensive unions in the both regions of ancient world. In the rest we need the new Greek inscriptions.
