HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Massive MIMO Adaptive Modulation and Coding Using Online Deep Learning Algorithm

IEEE Communications Letters. 2022. Vol. 26. No. 4. P. 818–822.
Bobrov E., Kropotov Dmitry, Lu H., Zaev D.

IEEEThe paper describes an online deep learning algorithm (ODL) for adaptive modulation and coding in massive MIMO. The algorithm is based on a fully connected neural network, which is initially trained on the output of the traditional algorithm and then incrementally retrained by the service feedback of its output. We show the advantage of our solution over the state-of-the-art Q-learning approach. We provide system-level simulation results to support this conclusion in various scenarios with different channel characteristics and different user speeds. Compared with traditional OLLA, the algorithm shows a 10% to 20% improvement in user throughput in the full-buffer case.

Stable On-the-Fly Learning for Dynamic Neural Networks With Delayed Inputs
Chertopolokhov V., Mukhamedov A., Bugriy G. et al., IEEE Access 2026 Vol. 14 P. 14369–14392
This study presents on-the-fly identification and multi-step prediction of nonlinear systems with delayed inputs using a dynamic neural network combined with a smooth projection onto ellipsoids. The projection enforces parameter constraints that guarantee stability, while a Lyapunov–Krasovskii analysis yields computable ultimate error bounds. Riccati-type matrix inequalities are derived, providing an efficient vectorization–projection–devectorization implementation suitable for ...

Белоголовый А. В., IEEE, 2021.
In this paper, we present a gradient descent and Metropolis-Hastings (MH) principle based low-complexity, highly parallelizable, near-optimal MIMO demodulation framework. The optimal maximum-likelihood (ML) demodulation is a discrete optimization problem and is computationally infeasible for large MIMO dimensions. Many continuous-relaxed versions of ML, such as least-squares (LS) demodulation, have closedform solutions but are highly suboptimal to ML. However, the continuous surface ...
