Editor-in-chief: F. Lomonaco, C. Megale

AI literally comes to us from the future, not because it exists in some distant temporal reality, but because we, by attempting to construct an expected future through the experiences and affections evoked in us by the idea of AI, are unwittingly creating the conditions for the future's sudden arrival. No matter how much we ...

The digital today constitutes an environment of affects: it touches, enchants, captivates, incites, and frightens. What it does not do, however, is provide knowledge; rather, it takes knowledge away. Previously, the subject of cognition was the human being, though cognition itself was largely grounded in institutions, social contacts, performative rituals, and the activity of human-scale ...

Nature as an image defines scientific, artistic, and technical discourse - various philosophical programs postulated overcoming nature, transforming nature, and reconciling with nature; today, all this diversity of discourses combines graphical and technical interfaces that constitute the experience of digital reality and increasingly identify it with the world of life. What was once sought in ...

of freedom (la libertà) in the political teaching of Niccolò Machiavelli. Drawing
on a close reading of the Florentine thinker’s works The Prince and Discourses

concept of freedom does not have a single meaning, but rather
several fundamental ones. Among ...

Traditionally, a justification for believing something is a priori if and only if it is independent of experience. Throughout Western philosophy ever since Plato, some of the most divisive questions have been whether a priori justification exists, how it is possible, and how far it reaches. This book is structured around these three main questions. ...

Today, more than ever before, the contribution of new technologies shapes the conditions of humanity's existence as a biological species, prompting a debate about its prospects for survival. Judges should be independent of politics, yet they are constantly ensnared by it. The communist morality created in the USSR to form a “new man” was based on a code of moral values that replaced traditional religious ideas with the ideological postulates of a one-party dictator ship. This study deals with one of the most “baroque” aspects of the Vico’s New Science – the paradoxical “utopia” of its first principle, «the first human thought in the gentile world», in the anamorphic structure of this early modern Gesamtkunstwerk. Taking as a starting point the irreducible plurality of the principles of the Vichian civil ...

The article examines the topos of an "exile poet", which is a subvariant of the topos "poet-sufferer". Already Dante gave this topos motifs of moral ...
