Daria Davydova, graduate of the HSE Graduate School of Business and Head of the AI Implementation Unit at the Artificial Intelligence Department of Alfa-Bank, received a prize at the TECH & AI Awards. The 'Second Shift' Is Not Why Women Avoid News

Women are more likely than men to avoid political and economic news, but the reasons for this behaviour are linked less to structural inequality or family-related stress than to personal attitudes and the emotional perception of news content. This conclusion was reached by HSE researchers after analysing data from a large-scale survey of more than 10,000 residents across 61 regions of Russia. The study findings have been published in Woman in Russian Society.

Physical Features of Wide-Band Metamaterial Based on a Microstrip Meander Line With a Slot Shield

The work presents a method of analytical calculation of microstrip meander-line complex resistance. Construction of a frequency-selective structure, formed by a slot line and microstrip meander-line is described. Using the construction as an example a method of calculation of complex resistance of a microstrip meander-line, which is located not above a perfectly conducting ground plane, but above an impedance surface is explained. Results of described structure
complex resistance calculation are presented and their comprising with results of measurement of the structure sample is provided. Calculated and measured results are in a good correspondence.
