Перспективы декарбонизации мировой экономики в контексте реализации Парижского климатического соглашения ООН
Russia is one of the main emitters of greenhouse gases in the world, possessing vast reserves of fossil fuels, renewable energy resources and biggest forest areas. The Paris Climate Agreement requires significant efforts to prevent global warming above 1,5-2°C. The economic analysis the scenarios of low carbon development of Russia by 2050 based on the TIMES-Russia model showed that development of low carbon sector, including bioenergy, can play a crucial role in reduction of carbon emissions. The deep decarbonization scenario ensures reduction of CO2 emissions by 83% below 2010 level by 2050. The research provides quantitative estimates of the opportunities to comply with the national commitments under the Paris Agreement and deeply decarbonize Russia´s economy by 2050.
