‘Hedgehog Versus ‘Relatives: Researchers Measure How the Brain Responds to Unexpected Words During Natural Speech
Russian neurophysiologists, including researchers from HSE University, have demonstrated the feasibility of using event-related fields (ERFs) to study brain activity during natural speech perception. The researchers showed that this approach can be applied not only to individual words but also to continuous speech. Their findings indicate that words whose meanings differ significantly from the preceding context require longer processing times. The study also reveals that the brain processes function words in two stages: first, it identifies their grammatical role and then uses this information to predict the next word. The study has been published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.

Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Геометрический метод определения фазового сдвига при отражении электромагнитной волны от конформной метаповерхности чувствительного элемента
Rano D., Yelizarov (Elizarov) A. A., Skuridin A. et al., Measurement Techniques (USA) 2022 № 4 С. 43–48
The current research of high-impedance conformal surfaces on metamaterials and multifunctional measuring devices based on them makes the task of determining their parameters and characteristics urgent. In this article, a geometric method for determining the phase shift in the in-phase reflection of an electromagnetic wave from the conformal meta-surface of a sensitive element is developed ...

A Novel Class of Super-Elliptical Vivaldi Antennas for Ultra-Wideband Applications
Loutridis A., Kazıcı S., Stukach O. et al., , in: Advanced Radio Frequency Antennas for Modern Communication and Medical Systems.: IntechOpen, 2020. Ch. 4 P. 1–16.
A novel class of complex-shaped antipodal Vivaldi antennas with enhanced impedance matching characteristics and an equivalent fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 166.8% is proposed. The reported antenna geometry is designed using the super-ellipse equation and implemented using an inexpensive FR4 laminate having a size of 170.7 mm × 134 mm × 0.2 mm. The presented low-cost, easy-to-fabricate radiating structure yields typical total efficiency, ...

Electromagnetic Mathematical Modeling of 3D Supershaped Dielectric Lens Antennas
Stukach O., Mescia L., Bia P. et al., Mathematical Problems in Engineering 2016 Vol. 2016 No. 8130160 P. 1–10
The electromagnetic analysis of a special class of 3D dielectric lens antennas is described in detail. This new class of lens antennas has a geometrical shape defined by the three-dimensional extension of Gielis’ formula. The analytical description of the lens shape allows the development of a dedicated semianalytical hybrid modeling approach based on geometrical tube tracing and physical optic. ...
