At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Road Injuries Leading Cause of Death Among Men Aged 10 to 39
Worldwide, road injuries are the leading cause of death among males aged 10–39. An international team of researchers reached this conclusion as part of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2023, analysing data from 204 countries between 1990 and 2023. Their findings have been published in The Lancet Public Health, with HSE University Professor Vasily Vlassov listed among the collaborators.

Признаки подготовки солнечных вспышек в микроволновом диапазоне

С. 15–18.
Абрамов-Максимов В. Е., Bakunina I. A.

We present a study of the spatial distribution of quasiperiodic oscillations of microwave
emission in active region 11302 before the M4.4 flare on September 25, 2011. We used the
Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH) daily observations at 1.76 cm. We found that the oscillations
are localized in a compact zone of the active region, which coincides with the place of
maximum brightness during a flare.

Абрамов-Максимов В. Е., И.А.

The Ratan Active Region Patches (RARPs) database: A new database of solar active region radio signatures from the RATAN-600 telescope
Korelov M., Knyazeva I., Kurochkin E. et al., Astronomy and Computing 2026 Vol. 56 Article 101111
Solar flares and coronal mass ejections, originating from solar active regions (ARs), are the primary drivers of space weather and can disrupt technological systems. Forecasting efforts heavily rely on photospheric magnetic field data from the Space-weather HMI Active Region Patch (SHARPs) data products. However, the crucial energy release occurs higher in the solar corona. Radio ...

Stabilization and complex dynamics initiated by pulsed force in the Rössler system near saddle-node bifurcation
Stankevich N., Nonlinear Dynamics 2024 Vol. 112 No. 4 P. 2949–2967
Stabilization by a periodic pulsed force of trajectories running away to infinity in the three-dimensional R ̈ossler system at a threshold of a saddle-node bifurcation, birth of equilibrium states is studied. It is shown that the external pulsed action stabilizes dynamical regimes in a fairly wide range of external signal parameters. Stabilized regimes can be ...

Stokes inversion techniques with neural networks: analysis of uncertainty in parameter estimation
Mistryukova L., Plotnikov A., Aleksandr Khizhik et al., Solar Physics 2023 Vol. 298 Article 98
Magnetic fields are responsible for a multitude of Solar phenomena, including such destructive events as solar flares and coronal mass ejections, with the number of such events rising as we approach the peak of the 11-year solar cycle, in approximately 2025. High-precision spectropolarimetric observations are necessary to understand the variability of the Sun. The field ...

Nonlinear Generation of Fluting Perturbations by Kink Mode in a Twisted Magnetic Tube
Ruderman M. S., Petrukhin N., Solar Physics 2022 Vol. 297 No. 9 Article 116
We study the excitation of fluting perturbations in a magnetic tube by an initially imposed kink mode. We use the ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations in the cold-plasma approximation. We also use the thin-tube approximation and scale the dependent and independent variables accordingly. Then we assume that the dimensionless amplitude of the kink mode is small and use it ...

Effect of Transitional Layer on Frequency of Kink Oscillations
Ruderman M. S., Petrukhin N., Solar Physics 2022 Vol. 297 No. 6 Article 72
In this article we study the effect of a transitional layer in a magnetic tube on the real part of the frequencies of kink oscillations. In our analysis, we use the model of a straight magnetic tube with the density and cross-section radius varying along the loop, and the thin-tube thin-boundary (TTTB) approximation. First, we calculate the ...

Абрамов-Максимов В. Е., Bakunina I. A., Известия Крымской астрофизической обсерватории 2021 Т. 117 № 1 С. 38–43
We present  a study of the spatial distribution of quasi-periodic oscillations (QPO) of microwave emission in two active regions before M-class flares. We considered two cases: NOAA 11283 on September 6 and NOAA 11302 on September 25, 2011. We used daily observations on the Nobeyama radio heliograph (NoRH) at a frequency of 17 GHz. In both cases, preflare ...

Bakunina I. A., Мельников В. Ф., Шаин А. В. et al., Известия Крымской астрофизической обсерватории 2022 Т. 118 № 1 С. 65–74
To date, observational signs that determine the ability of  solar active region to cause an eruption of matter into the high layers of the solar corona (CME) are not entirely clear. This makes it difficult to understand the physical mechanism of the CME trigger. This paper presents a search for observational signs that may indicate ...
