«Книги счета лет»: летописная традиция в индейском историописании Центральной Мексики (XV–XVI вв.)
С. 400–407.
Beliaev D.
Annals are one of the most popular forms of native history writing in the Early Colonial Central Mexico. Annalistic tradition had its roots in pre-Conquest times, and continued to develop in the 16th and 17th centuries. We analyze the format, structure, and content of several texts (Spanish tira and “cruciform” annals) in order to demonstrate that they were directly connected to non-extant pre-Columbian exemplars. We suggest that tira-like annals were used for regular historical records while “cruciform” texts (represented by “Codice en Cruz”) presented completed historical cycles related to Prehispanic cosmological beliefs.
