Many students suffer from psychological instability due to academic requirements. The aim of the study is to analyze whether a growth-oriented mindset can protect students from emotional disharmony. The survey involved 283 respondents from Armenia and Russia. Our hypothesis is that there is a negative correlation between developmental thinking and depression, anxiety and stress. We also posed several research questions that test cultural and gender differences in the severity of the parameters tested. The resulting hypothesis was partially confirmed. Cultural differences in the growth mindset are not found. Cultural differences in distress patterns are significant for depression and anxiety.
