The concept of the factor is investigated. The list of factors affecting the competitiveness of road construction organizations has been refined and supplemented taking into account the specifics of performing work on the conditions of state and municipal orders. The criteria of the classification of factors are determined considering the existing approaches. The result of the impact of factors on the competitiveness of organizations at various phases of the life cycle of the activities under the contract for the performance of road construction was evaluated by expertise.
