Adaptation of J.Nuttin's methodology "Scale of attitudes towards time" for determing attitudes  towards time among Japanese students  

Aim. Linguistic and cultural adaptation of the Japanese version of J. Nuttin’s “Scale of attitudes towards time”. Methodology. Using exploratory factor analysis, the structure of the technique and hypothetical scales were identified. The confirmatory factor analysis allowed differentiating three scales of the technique. The reliability of the scales was checked by Alpha-Cronbach’s method. The results of the  correlation analysis revealed the interrelation of the scales and indicators of time perspective according to F. Zimbardo’s “Time perspective questionnaire”. Results. The article presents the procedure and results of adaptation of the technique “Attitudes towards time” by J. Nuttin to diagnose the attitude to the past, present and future of Japanese students. Research implications. Linguistic and cultural adaptation of the Japanese version of J. Nuttin’s technique “Attitudes towards time” enables to perform cross-cultural Russian-Japanese research of attitude towards time
