The article analyzes the existing system of state support for the scientific and technological development of the crop production industry in the Novosibirsk region. It is revealed that the support is provided from three main sources: the Ministry of Science and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region, the federal budget and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region. Support for the scientific and technological development of the crop production industry in the region is allocated at all stages of innovation activity: from fundamental and applied research and development to the introduction of the resulting innovative product into agricultural production. The main problems of state support for the scientific and technological development of the industry are the lack of a unified policy for financing, as well as the lack of support for the transfer of agrobiotechnologies. To solve the first problem, it is necessary to form a list of key technologies and priority areas of research and development for the Novosibirsk region on the basis of a scientific and technological foresight. The second problem requires the creation of a financing mechanism, where agricultural producers will become the customer of R & D. The implementation of the proposed areas of state support will make the spending of funds more targeted and increase its efficiency.
